| There seems to be some confusion over travel. I've always said we don't go, because it's not realistic. Then when Parsits opened up and were just downriver slightly, I allowed travel there. Well Cardonicus is about 50 pasangs from Laura (still need to verfiy this) so that means travel there wouldn't take that long. Quick moving boat should get you there in an hour or so. and a tarn get you there half that time.
So, since notices get missed, I'm posting our list here:
Cardonicus (taken off the list because I was misled and it's actually hella far from Laura) Lydius (If there ever is one) Parsit's Landing (if they come back)
I'll update as necessary.

| Cardonicus, where it is traditionally located on the map, is more like 500 passangs SE of Laura in a straight line. Going by sea would be easier, but is more like 1200 passangs. | |

| Well, they say they are on the Laurius river, but there was no such city mentioned in the books I don't think, so they likely just placed it themselves. Wasn't Tarna a character? Anywho, since they are on the river, they are likely not too far away. | |

| May be it's Tharna (from Outlaw of Gor), the city ruled by the Tatrix ? There was no mention of the Laurius river there, when I recall correctly | |

That's what I get for taking someone else's word for it. Cardonicus is off the list people. But looks like Tarna is ok.

| No, it's not Tharna - it's just a little outpost on the Laurius, like Parsit's. Awesome! So currently our list of "sims that both exist and are permissible for travel" is.... Tarna and Parsit's Landing (if they're still around?), heh... Now I was INFORMED that even we women could go unescorted to these locations. However I was once offered escort and once thoroughly upbraided for going alone. While I do try for an escort, that's not always feasible... might one assume that one's riverboat captain/crew might suffice as NPC guards? | |

| Well, as I found out during the whole recent collaring fiasco, women travelling alone have no real right to safety. It would be best to go with an escort, and it was usually more than one person. Try to arrange things with the guards if possible, I am sure one of them could use some time outside the city. | |

| /me sighs and admits he's right - because while NPCd guards OUGHT to be sufficient... they're clearly not.
She will stay home, or travel with sufficient guard befitting her station. Or else one of those ex-panthergirl-kajirae, she hears they're pretty good with bows.

| When I am in the city and you need an escort, I surely can accompany you on your travels if no other obligations are keeping me in the city I recall a nice trip with Elise long ago to Teletus *looks around if Sage is listening in* And, may be on our trip we bump into a woman travelling alone... I will attach a fresh collar on my belt, it may come in handy *grin* | |
