I managed to miss the raid on the woods, but I was there for the raid on the city. I thought the event went very smoothy and was great fun, and it looked like it was quite educational too.
The region behaved itself, pretty much. Client and server lag wasn't too bad, overall. It was sluggish, sure, but not completely unworkable. Team Panther did an excellent job, and showed Team Laura just how effective they are as a fighting unit. Once they broke into the city, they dominated the battle. I'm sure Team Laura will look at this and learn from it, which is exactly why events like this are so useful.
I had a great view from the infirmary roof, giving me the opportunity to see the entire thing. Those with melee weapons did superbly well, which was good to see. My tactic was to offer supporting fire, and target anyone attempting to make a capture, which worked fairly well until most of the men were down. I had a fantastic rally with the panther that took the high ground and ran along the walls and over the tavern roof. When a panther finally closed in on the infirmary roof, the sluggishness of the region meant that switching from my crossbow to scimitars would have been a fatal mistake, so I instead summoned my tarn (since I was right next to the tarn roost!), and flew away, with the intention of sneaking back into the city on foot, once I was sure my swords had rezzed. By then, however, the fight was halted.
I heard some mention that there was a few issues with roleplay, from both sides. I wasn't in range to hear any standard chat, so I didn't catch anything there. However, it didn't look like there were many serious breaches of conduct from where I was, though I'd be interested in some comments about that.
All in all, it was a fabulous test of skill, and a great way to break the ice between both groups. Well done, everyone!
